A Picture is Worth a Thousand.

Online, You Only Get One Glance to Make a First Impression- Make Sure Your Photos Give the Best Impression of Your Home

When it comes to selling your home a picture is worth a lot more than words. In our current market as a seller you are competing with literally hundreds of homes that meet the exact same search criteria as your home. What separates you from the pack? In the online world (which is where most buyers START the buying process) the only thing separating your from those hundreds of other homes is a picture. These buyer may only take two seconds to glance at a picture of the front of your home before making the decision to venture further into information and more pictures of your home or writing the home off their buying possibilities list forever.

When coming on to the market making sure the photos of your home are perfect before placing the home online means everything. What do your pictures say about your home? Is there clutter on the kitchen counter? Kids toys on the living room floors? Sometimes our everyday stuff is so everyday that we stop noticing it is there. The way you sell a home and how you live in your home are very different.

What do other people see in the pictures of your home? A great way to get your home ready to photograph is to prepare your home by cleaning and staging it the best you can, then take photos of all of the rooms in your home and take them to people who will give you an honest opinion. Ask them what they see in the picture, what stands out and what they like. The goal is to minimize the bad and maximize the good. As a seller with the Momentum Group we will walk through the home with you and help you decide what in your home is worth maximizing and what needs to be minimized. We will take photographs from the best angles with high quality equipment. Then we take one step further and professionally edit your photos in Photoshop before placing them online.

Another option that you may want to consider would be hiring a professional photographer. Remember, however, you can only do so much with a camera, the home must be staged and ready to sell before you can photograph the home. You only get one chance to make a first impression, in selling your home many times that first impression is a photo so make it a good one!
